As one of its objectives, NADFAS aims to inspire young people with an enthusiasm for the Arts, an awareness of our Arts heritage and its conservation. LDFAS has raised money over and above the subscription income to make grants towards a variety of projects in the past:

  • Laminated art posters as a resource for Liverpool schools

  • A workshop for Sola Arts working with children from families of refugees and asylum seekers in Liverpool to produce a
multi-cultural poster for display in the Liverpool World Museum

  • HOLLY LODGE GIRLS’ COLLEGE WATER FEATURE
A contribution was made towards the cost of this water feature, which was designed by two of the pupils and is made of galvanised steel. Our Young Arts Representative was invited to the switching on ceremony of the feature which took place on 27th April this year as part of the College’s 85th Anniversary celebrations.

  • Lisa Forrester, from the Fine Art and Design Department of Liverpool Hope University, pictured here with three members of LDFAS Committee, after the presentation of a grant of £500. This will allow Lisa to continue to use workshop space to pursue her metalwork and build up her portfolio with a view to applying for the Royal College of Art next year.

Since Lisa received her grant, she has been very busy producing some beautiful silver work.
